Trusting God When Life Gets Hard

Life can feel heavy. Bills pile up. Relationships break. Health fades. Dreams feel far away. In those moments, it’s easy to feel like there’s no way forward. But the Bible gives us truth we can hold on to: "For with God nothing shall be impossible." (Luke 1:37, KJV)

This verse was first spoken by the angel Gabriel to Mary. She was told she would give birth to Jesus, even though she was a virgin. In human terms, it was impossible. But with God, the impossible became real.

God Does What We Can’t

God isn’t limited like we are. He’s not stopped by our problems, our past, or our pain. Over and over in Scripture, we see Him making a way when there wasn’t one:

  • Abraham and Sarah had a baby in old age (Genesis 21:1–7)
  • Moses parted the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21–22)
  • David, a young shepherd, beat a giant (1 Samuel 17)
  • Jesus rose from the dead (Luke 24)

Each story shows God's power over the impossible. What seems hopeless to us is easy for Him.

Bible Story Human Problem God’s Answer
Abraham & Sarah Too old to have children Isaac was born
Israelites at the Red Sea Trapped by enemies Sea was parted
David vs Goliath Outmatched in battle Giant was defeated
Lazarus dead 4 days Beyond help Raised to life

Faith Makes Room for Miracles

Jesus often said, “Your faith has made you whole.” Faith doesn’t force God’s hand. But it opens our hearts to believe that He can move. When we believe God is bigger than our problem, we begin to pray and live with bold hope.

Matthew 17:20 says,

“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed... nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

Even small faith can move big mountains. Not because we are strong, but because God is.

Real-Life Examples of God's Power

God’s power didn’t stop in Bible times. People today still see impossible things happen through faith:

  • A mother struggling with addiction turns her life around and becomes a counselor.
  • A job loss leads to a better career that was never expected.
  • A sick child recovers against all odds.

These aren’t just lucky breaks. They’re signs of a God who still works today.

What To Do When You Feel Hopeless

When you feel like nothing will ever change, remember these steps:

  • Pray honestly – Tell God your fears.
  • Read Scripture – Find verses that remind you of His power.
  • Talk to others – Share your burden with believers who will pray with you.
  • Take small steps – Trust God daily, even in tiny ways.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” – Philippians 4:13

Nothing Is Too Hard for God

No matter what you’re facing—loss, debt, fear, sickness—God sees it. He knows your story. And He’s not finished yet. What seems impossible today may be a miracle in the making.

Believe that God can. Trust that He will. Nothing is impossible with Him.
