When Abraham lifted his eyes on Mount Moriah, he saw a ram caught in the thicket. At that moment, he named the place Jehovah Jireh, meaning “The Lord will provide.” This name of God reveals His nature as a faithful provider who meets every need according to His perfect timing and purpose.

The Origin of the Name Jehovah Jireh
The name Jehovah Jireh first appears in Genesis 22, during one of the most faith-testing moments in Scripture. God asked Abraham to offer his beloved son Isaac as a sacrifice. Though this command seemed impossible, Abraham trusted that God would provide another way.
Just as Abraham raised the knife, the angel of the Lord stopped him, and God supplied a ram for the sacrifice. Abraham’s obedience revealed his faith, and God revealed His provision.
